Writing Center:
http://www.elon.edu/writingcenter

The writing center is located just inside Belk Library. There, writing tutors can offer help at any point in your paper. Students will receive individualized attention and advice for paper grammar and structure. Furthermore, if a student agrees, the professor will be notified that he/she sought help from the writing center. This lets the professor know that students care about their assignments, are willing to seek help, and put forth an effort into their papers.

Career Center:
http://www.elon.edu/careers

The Career Center is located on the first floor of Duke. In this office, one can find information on internships, help in major/career decisions, resume writing assistance, and general career counseling. Internships are an excellent way to get practical experience and credit, as it will also count toward completing the Experiential Learning Requirement (ELR).

Experiential Learning (ELR):

The ELR is not a separate course, but an opportunity for students to develop their thinking through activities outside the classroom. Students complete the ELR through internships, practica, co-ops, study abroad, student teaching, or approved field-based courses. The ELR may also be met through service, leadership, or individualized learning experiences.

Tutorial Services:

Tutoring is available on campus in two different formats – walk-in or by appointment.

For walk-in services: Click the above link then on the Walk-in Tutor Schedule where there will be a list of days, times, subjects and tutors available in the library tutoring center for walk-in tutoring (no appointment necessary, students may simple go when they need help).

For appointments: Click the above link then on the By-Appointment Tutor List which provides a list of subjects and tutors one can call for help on an individualized basis. The student and tutor will need to set up a time mutually convenient to meet. Setting up a regular schedule with a tutor is strongly encouraged. These tutors are busy and may have other demands on their time. Having a set schedule to meet will avoid scrambling for help at the last minute.

Should a student need a tutor for a class where no tutor is listed, he or she should contact the Director of Academic Progress immediately.
