Personal: Full name is Sam Aurelio DiLella...Born on April 16, 2002...Son of Dan and Jen DiLella...Mother played soccer at St. Lawrence...Has three younger siblings named Kate, Danny and Chase...Wants to major in Finance.

2022: Posted a 3.09 ERA and a 1.76 WHIP in 23 1/3 innings over 18 appearances (one start)...Logged a 2.08 ERA and a 1.71 WHIP in 8 2/3 innings over six appearances during CAA play...Made his collegiate debut against Fairfield on Feb. 19, striking out one, walking one and hitting a batter in one-third of an inning...Tossed two scoreless innings of relief against UNCG on March 14...Pitched seven scoreless innings over five appearances from April 2-May 10...Went a season-high 2 1/3 innings against UNC Asheville on April 16, striking out two and allowing only two batters to reach base via a single and a walk...Struck out a season-high three batters while giving up one hit and one walk over two scoreless innings against the College of Charleston on April 22...Pitched a 1-2-3 seventh on May 25 at Hofstra...Made his first career start in the CAA Tournament, allowing two runs in two innings as Elon staved off elimination against UNCW.

He was also named to the Second Team All-Central League...Played on the post-grad team at Combine Academy in Lincolnton, N.C. and also pitched for Bellringers and Five Star the summer of 2020.
