ELON COLLEGE, NC - The College of Charleston's Alison Davies scored twice as the Cougars beat the Fightin' Christians 2-0 at a sun drenched Bakatsias Field. Davies deposited her first goal at the 55:35 mark of the second half and added the insurance goal at 88:31 of the final frame.

Elon (1-4) had its chances in the second half as a cross by Tricia Clark careened of the post and into the net off a host of players, but the referee ruled no goal as the ball curled outside than inside the end line. With about ten minutes remaining in the game Margi Burkhart just missed the top of the goal off a direct kick.

The wonderful play of goalkeeper Sommer Cork kept the Fightin' Christians in the contest during the first half barrage by the College of Charleston (2-3).

Appalachian State invades Elon on Wednesday, September 15 with kick off slated for 4 pm.
