LYNCHBURG, VA - Elon College's Jessica Mills scored the only goal of the match at the 74:58 mark in the second half on an assist from Marjorie Burkhart, giving the Fightin' Christians a 1-0 win today at the Liberty Soccer Field.

The Lady Flames and Elon played to a 0-0 tie in the first period, falling even in shots (4) and corner kicks (3). Nearly 30 minutes into the second half, the Fightin' Christians Burkhart gained control of the ball and was fouled twenty yards out, diretcly in front of the goal. Burkhart took the direct kick and drove the ball towards the left post where she found Mills to score the game-winning goal.

Elon improved to 2-4 overall and 1-0 in Big South Conference play.
