CHARLOTTE, NC -- Elon post player Rasmi Gamble was tabbed the Big South Conference Freshman of the Week Monday evening after putting forth stellar performances against league foes Coastal Carolina and Winthrop last week.

Gamble recorded back-to-back double-doubles, finishing 10-for-13 from the field for the two contests while totalling 25 points, 22 rebounds, two blocked shots and two steals. The freshman phenomenon posted career highs in both points (15) and rebounds (11) in Elon’s 63-60 win over Coastal Carolina.

He followed that performance with 10 markers and 11 boards in Elon’s 67-60 loss to Winthrop. For the two games, Gamble averaged 12.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, 1.0 blocks, 1.0 steals, 1.5 turnovers and 24.0 minutes.

The honor marks the second so far this season for Gamble. He was also named the Big South Conference Freshman of the Week back on Dec. 16.
