CHARLOTTE, NC--Elon University sophomore Dani Concepcion earned Player of the Week honors as announced Tuesday morning by the Big South Conference.

Concepcion, an outfielder for the Phoenix softball team, went .500 last week (5-for-10) with two hits in the second game of the UNC doubleheader. This included a three-run home run in the fourth inning to put Elon ahead of the Tar Heels 3-2. She paced Elon in the UNC series, going 2-for-5 with a homer, a run and three RBI.

In Elon's two-win Appalachian State series, she went 3-for-5 with a pair of runs and two RBI. Concepcion is currently second on the team in RBI with 18 on the season. She sports a .296 batting average thus far.

The Phoenix softball team travels to Radford, VA, for a conference matchup with the Highlanders on Thursday, Marh 24 at 4:00 p.m.
