CHARLESTON, SC -- Kristen Albert knocked home an Emily Chesney pass in the 14th minute for what would prove to be the game-winning goal in Elon's 3-0 Southern Conference women's soccer victory over The Citadel on Saturday morning. Elon moves to 2-7-0 overall and 1-2-0 in SoCon play. The Citadel falls to 1-6-1, 0-3-0.

Albert's score was the only goal of the first half.

The Phoenix added scores from Kate Schabo and Kerry McCarron in the second half for the final 3-0 margin. Albert earned the assist on Shabo's goal in the 67th minute, while Laura Fogg picked up the assist on McCarron's goal in the 82nd minute.

Kara Zagol logged 86:00 in net, making eight saves for Elon. Jessica Geguzis played the final four minutes in goal for the Phoenix, grabbing one save. Martha Skinner made eight saves while going the distance for the Bulldogs.

The Phoenix will return home to host Wofford on October 3 at 4:00 p.m. at Rudd Field.
