ELON, N.C. -- Elon University baseball coach Mike Kennedy today announced that
Dustin Stultz (Reidsville, N.C./Rockingham County HS) has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Phoenix in 2006. The signing of Stultz brings the early signing total to three for Kennedy.
Stultz, a 6-2, 185-pound left-handed pitcher, set a Rockingham County High record with 19 strikeouts in one contest. Last season he threw a no-hitter against Parkland High. An all-conference selection, Stultz attended the East Coast Professional Baseball Showcase this past summer. He has also been a member of the 18U fall prospect team and Danville Post 325 of the American Legion league. He helped guide Danville Post 325 to a state runner-up title in 2004. Stultz has also lettered in basketball and ran cross country at Rockingham County High. Dustin played for coach Dale Gammon at Rockingham County and is the son of Terri and Phillip Stultz.
Stultz joins Steven Hensley (Asheville, N.C./Owen HS) and Tom Porter (Huntersville, N.C./North Mecklenburg) in the fall class for Elon.
Elon University is an NCAA Division I member of the Southern Conference.
