ELON, N.C. – Today’s men’s and women’s tennis matches between Elon and UNC Wilmington were rained out this afternoon at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center. Both matches had begun and were well into doubles play when the storm hit, causing them to be cancelled less than an hour after they began.

The matches will not be rescheduled. The Phoenix men (8-6), winners of three in a row, will return to action when they host Southern Conference rival Appalachian State at 1 p.m. Friday at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center. Both of Elon’s tennis teams play at SoCon foe Wofford at 1 p.m. Saturday in the last tune-up before next week’s Southern Conference Championships.
