Bredberg Named SoCon Player of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Elon junior team captain Sebastian Bredberg (Kristianstad, Sweden/Soderportskolan Gymnasium) was declared the Southern Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week today by the league's office.

Bredberg led the Phoenix to a 4-0 record last week, including a 3-0 ledger in Southern Conference action. During the past week, Elon defeated Wofford 5-2, UNC Wilmington 4-0, Georgia Southern 7-0 and No. 69 Furman 5-2 on its way to its 14th victory in 16 matches.

During this span, Bredberg fashioned a 3-0 record at No. 3 singles and a 4-0 ledger alongside partner Kevin Colin at No. 2 doubles. In the process, he improved his team-leading singles record to 13-4 this spring – 11-2 at No. 3 singles and 6-2 in the SoCon.

Bredberg and the rest of the Phoenix (14-4 overall, 7-1 in the Southern Conference) finish up regular season league competition when they host Davidson at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.
