DAVIDSON, N.C. -- The Davidson Wildcats scored once in each half of play to knock off the visiting Elon Phoenix by a 2-0 margin in Southern Conference women's soccer action on a wet Thursday night.  Elon fell to 5-10-1 overall and 3-5-0 in SoCon play while Davidson upped its mark to 11-4-1, 6-1-1.

The Wildcats got on the board at 38:29 when Suzanne Sittko headed home her fourth goal of the season, this one off a corner kick off the foot of Nancy Haskell.

In half number two, Davidson's Kyri Bye-Nagel struck for her ninth tally of the year.  Bye-Nagel's goal came unassisted as she booted the ball from 20 yards out past Elon's Lizz Johnson at 76:47.

The Phoenix put five of its six shots on frame, led by two attempts by leading scorer Katina Boozer, but the Wildcats' Bevin English turned them all away.

Johnson finished the night with 10 saves.

With her 19th career shutout, English became Davidson's all-time leader in that category.

Elon will return home for Senior Day on Sunday at 1 p.m. when it will take on the Western Carolina Catamounts at Rudd Field.
