In doubles action versus Catawba (8-2), Damon Gooch and Mason Schermerhorn (over Jose Velazquez and Drew Ramsey 8-2 at No. 1), Austin Fenn and Sebastian Bredberg (over Shahin Soltan and Fernando Aguiar 8-0 at No. 2) and Smialek and Howell (over Hector Bousoulas and Cyle Peterson 8-4 at No. 3) were the winners.
In singles play against the Indians, Schermerhorn (over Velazquez 4-6, 6-1, 10-5 at No. 1), Bredberg (over Soltan 6-4, 6-3 at No. 2), Gustaf Asplund (over Aguiar 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3), Colin (over Bousoulas 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4), Beard (over Peterson 6-2, 6-0 at No. 5) and Garrett (over Ramsey 6-3, 6-4 at No. 6) were victorious.
In doubles with Winston-Salem State (1-3), Asplund and Howell (over Princeston Gilbert and Troy Moore 8-0 at No. 1), Colin and Smialek (over Ryan Lindquist and Phi Tran 8-1 at No. 2) and Beard and Garrett (over Andrew Jones and Daren Milbourne 8-0 at No. 3) won.
In singles versus the Rams, Fenn (over Gilbert 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1), Beard (over Moore 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2), Colin (over Lindquist 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3), Smialek (over Jones 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4), Howell (over Tran 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5) and Garrett (over Patrick Jenkins 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6) enjoyed success.
Winston-Salem State hosts Appalachian State at 11:30 a.m. Sunday. Catawba hosts Limestone at 2 p.m. Monday. Charlotte hosts Elon at 2 p.m. Thursday.
