SPARTANBURG, S.C.- Elon's Carol Lilley earned Southern Conference Pitcher of the Month honors for the month of March as announced by the league office on Thursday.

Lilley paced the team to a 16-9 overall record and a 5-0 start in the SoCon.

Lilley posted an 8-4 record and a 1.76 ERA for the month.  She started nine games for the Phoenix and appeared in 12 while tossing six complete contests.  She tallied 34 strikeouts and allowed only 14 earned runs in 55.2 innings of work.

Lilley tallied seven strikeout in Elon's 10-2 win over St. Francis on March 3 and again fanned seven batters as Elon defeated North Carolina A&T 4-2 on March 9.  Against Campbell on March 29, Lilley tallied five strikeouts and allowed no earned runs to lead Elon to a 5-1 win.

Elon returns to action on Thursday afternoon in a 4 p.m. contest with North Carolina A&T at East Field.
