ELON, N.C. -- Following its first road victory of the season, the Elon Phoenix men's basketball team will finish off a five-game road swing with a 6 p.m. tip with a Southern Conference game at College of Charleston on Saturday evening. Elon enters with a 6-7 overall record and a 4-1 SoCon mark while the Cougars also sit at 6-7, but are 1-2 in the league.

Elon earned its first road win since Feb. 15, 2007 with a 72-63 decision over The Citadel on Thursday night. The Phoenix is now 1-6 on the road this year.
With its 6-7 record through 13 games, Elon has equalled its best 13-game record since moving to NCAA Division I play for the 1999-2000 season. That first year at the DI level, the then-Fightin' Christians also began the year 6-7.
Saturday will mark the seventh meeting all-time between College of Charleston and Elon in men's basketball action. The Phoenix is looking for just its second victory in the series. Since joining the SoCon, Elon is 1-3 against the Cougars.
Over Elon's last five games, four players are averaging double-figure scoring outputs - Ola Atoyebi (14.8 ppg), Montell Watson (12.4), Monty Sanders (11.3) and Brett James (10.4).
On Thursday night, Elon was led by Watson's 18 points, which equalled a season-high. Sanders added a career-best 17 points and a season-high six rebounds while knocking down a career-high seven field goals. Atoyebi also added 16 markers and has scored 11+ points in seven consecutive games. Atoyebi also led the Phoenix with seven rebounds.
The Phoenix also rejected a season-high seven shots in the victory over The Citadel.
