DAVIDSON, N.C. – Several members of the Elon women’s tennis team competed at the Davidson Fall Invitational this weekend. Sophomore Lauren Sessoms, junior Jessica Margolis and senior Haley Wahl were each victorious during competition. The team will compete at the ITA Regionals on the campus of Wake Forest University next weekend to close out fall play.

“Overall we gained a tremendous amount of experience this weekend,” commented Elon head coach Elizabeth Anderson. “The girls were tested by playing in higher flights which is going to greatly prepare them for our strong schedule this spring. They really elevated their play throughout the weekend.”

Sessoms battled out a 4-6, 7-6, 10-8 victory over Davidson’s Ali Gores, avenging a loss she suffered to Gores in last spring’s dual match. Wahl topped Catherine Wood of Davidson, 6-1, 6-4. She also teamed with Margolis for an 8-3 victory over Davidson’s Katherine Dicconson and Romina Clemente.

Competition begins at the ITA Regionals on Thursday, October 22.
