Phoenix Looks for First SoCon Win at Chattanooga on Saturday

ELON, N.C. -- The Elon men's basketball team will look to get its first win of Southern Conference play when it meets the defending Southern Conference champion Chattanooga Mocs in a Saturday night showdown at McKenzie Arena. The Phoenix nearly knocked off the top-seeded Mocs in last year's league tournament, dropping a one-point decision in regulation. Elon (2-6, 0-1) has not won at McKenzie Arena since the 2006 season.

• Elon is 2-5 when playing at Chattanooga. Its last victory in McKenzie Arena was a 92-74 win on January 9, 2006.
 
• Junior Chris Long has had Chattanooga's number over the years. He shoots 43.8 percent from the field, 50 percent from three. He has racked up 19 assists in six games versus the Mocs.
 
• Long came off the bench to hit 6-of-8 three-pointers in 18 minutes against UTC in Elon's 79-78 loss in the 2009 SoCon Tournament.
 
• Elon is looking to snap a two-game losing streak against the Mocs.
