SUNSET BEACH, N.C. -- The Elon Phoenix recorded four players in the top 10 after the second round of the Sea Trail Women’s Intercollegiate to sit 17 strokes ahead of the rest of the field. Elon posted a two-day score of 594 (299-295).
Tara McFadden carded a three-under 69 on Saturday to post an overall score of 142 (73-69) and remain in the top spot.
Appalachian State sits in second place with a score of 611 (301-310). The Mountaineers are two strokes ahead of Jacksonville with a score of 613 (311-302). Samford currently is in fourth place with a score of 616 (311-305) while Presbyterian is fifth with a 630 (322-308).
Elon’s Martyna Meirzwa notched a 73 in the second round to move up nine spots and currently sits tied for third with a score of 150.
Virginia Mayer (76-75) and
Diana Davis (73-78) are tied at sixth with a score of 151.
Shannon Prunty posted a 79 for a two-day score of 159 and currently sits in a tie for 28th. Playing as individuals,
Meghan Green is tied for 25th with a score of 158 after shooting a 77 on Saturday while
Lauren Lebak is 46th with a 170 (84-86).
Appalachian State’s Yue Xu moved into second place after posting a 74 in the second round for a score of 149. Rumbidzai Masamvu shot a 75 for the second straight day to sit tied for third with a score of 150. Keri Dice is tied at 22nd with a score of 157 after carding an 81 in the second round while Kristina Boo sits tied for 28th with a two-day score of 159 (75-84).
Kristen Boettcher tallied a 73 on Saturday to lead Jacksonville. She currently sits tied for third with a score of 150. Morgan Jackson is tied for sixth with a 151 (75-76) while Jessica Williams (80-76) and Melissa Magdor (79-77) are tied at 16th with a 156.
Bethune-Cookman’s Yanessa Adarme (75-76) sits tied with Jackson, Mayer and Davis for sixth place with a two-day score of 151.
The Sea Trail Women’s Intercollegiate will conclude on Sunday, September 26 beginning at 9:15 a.m.
