ELON, N.C. – Elon University head women’s soccer coach
Chris Neal has announced seven spring competitions for the Phoenix, beginning with a Feb. 19 double-dip at NC State against the Wolfpack and the South Carolina Gamecocks.
“I am excited about our spring season for many reasons. We have more flexibility with our team tactics and more freedom to experiment in all areas than we traditionally have during the fall,” Neal said. “It is also a chance for us to play quality opponents that we may not have had the chance to play in the traditional segment. Our goals for the spring are for our players to become more confident in their individual abilities, for our team to cultivate leadership now that the seniors are gone, and to answer as many questions as possible about the players’ positional capabilities.”
Elon has three home games scheduled this upcoming spring, beginning with a 7 p.m. contest on Saturday, April 2, against UNC Wilmington. Three days later on April 5, the Phoenix hosts the Duke Blue Devils at Rudd Field at 7 p.m.
On April 12, Elon heads down the road to High Point to face the Panthers before closing out the spring at home on April 16 with a pair of matches against Charlotte and Southern Conference rival UNC Greensboro.
