ELON, N.C. – The Elon men’s basketball team will play its sixth road game in the last eight contests when it visits the Holmes Center to take on preseason Southern Conference North Division favorite Appalachian State on Monday, January 17 at 7 p.m. Elon has won three of its last four road games and is looking for its first victory at ASU since the 2006-07 season.

Chris Long became the 33rd Elon player to eclipse the 1,000-point barrier, scoring 21 points at UNCG. Long has scored 1,010 points during his Elon career.

Drew Spradlin is currently in a tie for eighth place all-time at Elon with 119 three-pointers.
• Elon is playing its third straight road game and will be looking for its first victory at Appalachian State since a 64-63 win on Jan. 13, 2007.
• Through its first three SoCon games, Elon was being outrebounded by 13 rpg — in the last three league contests, the Phoenix has led on the glass by 11 rpg.

LAST TIME OUT

Drew Spradlin scored in double figures for the sixth consecutive game with 19 points but it wasn’t enough as Elon fell to Western Carolina, 70-63.
• The Phoenix turned the ball over 18 times and the Catamounts scored 17 points off the miscues.
• Elon struggled on the glass in the first half at Western, getting outrebounded 29-20. In the second period, it was a different story as the Phoenix held a 22-12 lead on the boards.
ELON VS. APPALACHIAN STATE
• Preseason North Division favorite ASU is coming off back-to-back one-point losses to UNC Greensboro and Western Carolina.
• Elon has lost the last four meetings to the Mountaineers — its last win was a 76-70 victory on Feb. 14, 2008.
• There will be familiar faces on the sidelines as former Elon assistant coach Justin Gainey is an assistant coach for the Mountaineers.
