Irwin is Elon’s school record holder for shutouts with 22, setting a single-season mark with 10 clean slates in 2009 while leading the Phoenix to the Southern Conference Tournament championship game. He ranks third all-time at Elon with a 0.89 goals allowed average and became only the 11th player in Southern Conference history to be named all-conference each year of his career. Irwin was a two-time NSCAA All-South Region honoree and was named to the NSCAA Scholar All-America team as both a junior and senior. The keeper was also a finalist for the 2010 Lowe’s Senior Class Award, an award which honors men’s soccer’s top senior with notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition. He helped the Phoenix to a 2008 regular-season conference title with an unbeaten league mark.
