SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Elon University junior pitcher #Erin O’Shea# has been named the Southern Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced Monday evening, Feb. 28.

O’Shea pitched a complete game at South Carolina to lead the Phoenix to an 8-1 victory over the Gamecocks. The Kennesaw, Ga. went seven innings against South Carolina, giving up one run, striking out one and walking only one. O’Shea is 3-0 on the season and has helped the Phoenix jump out to an 8-2 record to begin the season.

Elon has won a weekly award in all three weeks to begin the season. Emerald Graham and Lauren Taylor were dubbed player and pitcher of the week, respectively, the first two weeks of the season.

Elon is back in action this weekend, March 4-6, for the Stetson Classic in DeLand, Fla.
