Every Monday, Phoenix fans can get a look at the week ahead with our “This Week in Elon Athletics” feature when we will preview all the week’s upcoming events for our spring sports teams.

Men’s Tennis (14-5, 6-0 SoCon)
Elon at UNC Greensboro, Wednesday, April 6 at 2:30 p.m., Greensboro, N.C.
Elon vs. Wofford, Saturday, April 9 at 1 p.m., Elon, N.C.
Elon vs. Georgia Southern, Saturday, April 10 at 1 p.m., Elon, N.C. (Senior Day)

• The Phoenix will take its eight-match winning streak down the road to UNC Greensboro on Wednesday in a rematch of the 2010 Southern Conference championship match. The Spartans pulled out the 4-3 victory, winning the doubles point after the teams split the three singles matches.
• Elon is coming off a big weekend win over Furman — Elon’s first over the Paladins since the 2007 season. Elon’s current eight-match winning streak is the longest since the 2009 team strung together 12 straight victories.
• On Sunday afternoon, Elon will honor four seniors who have had outstanding careers in the maroon and gold. Philip Nemec, Chase Helpingstine, Alberto Rojas and Cody Stauffer-MacDowell have led Elon to appearances in the league title match in each of the previous three years. Be at The Jimmy Powell Center early to honor these four players prior to the home season finale.

Baseball (18-11, 9-3 SoCon)
Elon vs. Old Dominion, Tuesday, April 5 at 6 p.m., Elon, N.C.
Elon at East Carolina, Wednesday, April 6 at 6 p.m., Greenville, N.C.
Elon vs. Wofford, Friday-Sunday, April 8-10 at 6:30/4/1:30 p.m., Elon, N.C.

• Elon continues to sit atop the SoCon standings with a 9-3 league mark.
• Head coach Mike Kennedy is closing in on his 500th career victory.  The 15th-year Elon skipper has 492 career victories.
• The Phoenix will host Old Dominion on Tuesday evening before traveling to Greenville, N.C. to make up a rain out with East Carolina on Wednesday.  Elon is 3-1 all-time against ODU and 30-35-1 vs. ECU.
• Elon will host just its second SoCon series of the year this weekend when Wofford visits Latham Park.  The Phoenix is 32-9 all-time against the Terriers.

Women's Golf
Elon at UNCW Lady Seahawk Classic, Monday-Tuesday, April 4-5, Wallace, N.C.

• Elon will compete in its final tune-up before the Southern Conference Golf Championship by participating in the UNCW Lady Seahawk Classic this week.
• The Phoenix is coming off of its best spring performance - a sixth-place showing at the UC Spring Invitational.
• Sophomore Martyna Mierzwa was named the SoCon Golfer of the Week after her seventh-place showing at the UC Spring Invitational.

Softball (15-14, 2-7 SoCon)
Elon vs. NC Central (DH), Thursday, April 7 at 5 p.m., Elon, N.C.
Elon vs. Georgia Southern (DH), Saturday, April 9 at 1 p.m., Elon, N.C.
Elon vs. Georgia Southern, Sunday, April 10 a 1 p.m., Elon, N.C.

• Elon will finish its eight-game home-stand this week with a doubleheader on Thursday against NC Central, beginning at 5 p.m. and a three-game set on Saturday and Sunday versus Southern Conference foe Georgia Southern.
• Rookie Carleigh Nester hit her first career home run this past weekend against Chattanooga and currently leads Elon with a .351 batting average and .527 slugging percentage.
• The Phoenix turned an all-too-rare triple play on Sunday against Chattanooga in the fourth inning after a ground ball to third led to a force and tag at third base from Caitlin McGowan for the first two outs, followed by a throw to second base for the force out to end the inning.

Track and Field
Elon at Duke Invitational, Friday-Saturday, April 8-9, Durham, N.C.

• Despite extreme wind on both days, Elon had several outstanding performances at the Liberty Collegiate Invitational this past weekend. Julie Hart and Veronica Day captured individual titles in the 1,500-meter and long jump events, respectively. Day also took third in the triple jump for the Phoenix with a leap of 11.70m.
• The four-runner crew of Sarah Skogen, Cara Hughes, Bria Bell and Amy Salek placed first in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:52.33. They also placed fourth in the 4x100 relay with a time of 48.55.
• A day earlier in the javelin throw, Elon’s Justine Robertson finished third overall with a toss of 37.05m.

Women's Tennis (9-9, 4-4 SoCon)
Elon vs. Davidson, Wednesday, April 6, 4:30 p.m., Elon, N.C.

• The Phoenix earned a Southern Conference split on the weekend, earning a 5-2 win at Wofford, but falling 6-1 at Furman.
• Freshman Bryn Khoury defeated Wofford's Haley Baird at number two, 6-0, 6-2, and improved her season record to 11-6. Khoury and doubles partner, Frida Jansaker, picked up an 8-5 win at number two doubles against Furman's Lauren Kline/Michele Stanford to move to 10-7 this year.
• Elon returns to the familiar courts of The Jimmy Powell Tennis Center on Wednesday, April 6, for its first home match since March 16.
