FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – As he concluded his five-day journey at the 2013 adidas Major League Soccer Player Combine, Elon men’s soccer senior Chris Thomas reflected on his experience as he and other MLS prospects prepare for the league’s SuperDraft on Thursday, Jan. 17, in Indianapolis, Ind.
 
“It was a great experience and one I will never forget,” said Thomas. “The atmosphere was very exciting and I am very grateful to play with other great soccer players from around the country.”
 
While Thomas showcased his skills during competition against other potential draftees, the Snellville, Ga., native was able to take some time and have fun with the experience. On Monday, Jan. 14, Thomas and a few other prospects spent the day at the Miami Seaquarium visiting Salty the Sea Lion and interacting with other animals.
 
Thomas will look to become only the second player from Elon to be drafted in the MLS SuperDraft, joining former Phoenix standout Steven Kinney in 2010. Kinney was selected with the 45^th pick in the 2010 MLS SuperDraft and currently plays with the Chicago Fire.
 
The 2013 MLS SuperDraft, presented by adidas, will begin at 12 p.m. ET on Thursday with the first-overall selection broadcasted live on ESPN SportsCenter. Fans will then be able to watch the remainder of the draft live on ESPN3, ESPNFC, MLSsoccer.com, MLS club websites and YouTube.
