ELON, N.C. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its final Division I men’s tennis team rankings for the 2013 season today, May 28, and Elon University finished the year ranked 64th nationally, its highest ranking of the season.
 
The Phoenix entered the ITA national rankings for the first time this season on March 26, coming in at No. 72.
 
The 2013 Southern Conference regular season champions, Elon finished the year with an overall record of 17-8, including an 8-2 mark against league competition.
 
The Phoenix sent two players to the NCAA Tennis Championships, as 2013 SoCon Player of the Year Cameron Silverman, ranked 67th nationally in singles, earned the league’s automatic singles bid. Silverman and Stefan Fortmann, ranked 33rd nationally as a tandem, earned the conference’s automatic NCAA bid for doubles.
 
The final ITA rankings for singles and doubles will come out on June 5.
