Men's Tennis Duo Earns National Rankings, Selected for All-American Tournament

ELON, N.C. –
Elon University men's tennis standouts Cameron Silverman and Stefan Fortmann earned preseason national rankings by the ITA, the association announced today, Sept. 9.
 
Last year's Southern Conference Player of the Year, Silverman earned a national singles ranking of No. 34. Silverman advanced to the NCAA Singles Championships last season after a stellar year.
 
In doubles, Silverman and Fortmann earned a preseason ranking of No. 16. The duo advanced to the NCAA Doubles Championships. The No. 16 ranking is the highest ranking by an Elon doubles team in program history.
 
As a team, Elon finished last season ranked 64th in the nation.

In addition, both Silverman and Fortmann were selected to the main draws for singles and doubles in the ITA Men's All-American Championships on Oct. 3. It marks the first time Elon has had players in the main draw of the All-American Championships.

Elon begins its fall season this weekend at the Duke Fab Four in Durham, N.C. Competition begins on Friday, Sept. 13, and concludes Sunday, Sept. 15.
