ELON, N.C. – A pair of Colonial Athletic Association road games are on tap for the Elon University women's soccer team on Friday, Oct. 3, and Sunday, Oct. 5. The Phoenix renews a conference rivalry with College of Charleston on Friday night at 7 p.m. before taking on the UNC Wilmington Seahawks on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.

ELON VS. COLLEGE OF CHARLESTON: The Phoenix and Cougars will meet for the 15th time on Friday night. CofC leads the series with an 8-5-1 mark. The two schools last met as members of the Southern Conference on Sept. 30, 2012, at Elon, with the Phoenix coming away with a 2-0 decision. Elon's last match at Patriots Point was Oct. 30, 2011, in the first round of the SoCon Tournament, as the Cougars came away with a 3-0 win.

ELON VS. UNCW: Sunday marks the 10th all-time meeting between the Phoenix and Seahawks. UNCW has won all nine of the previous meetings with the last match coming on Aug. 30, 2006, in Wilmington. The Seahawks came away with a 2-0 win in that match.

COMMON THREADS: Elon head coach Chris Neal was an assistant coach on the UNCW women's soccer staff from 2001-07, helping the Seahawks to a 70-55-8 mark. Neal is a 1995 graduate of UNC Wilmington where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree as a political science major and Spanish minor.

LOOKING BACK: Elon opened CAA play last week against Hofstra, the preseason league favorite, and Northeastern, last year's league champion. The Phoenix dropped a 4-1 decision to the Pride on Friday before falling to the Huskies, 4-0, on Sunday.

LOOKING AHEAD: Following this weekend's matches, Elon closes its home slate with two matches against Drexel on Oct. 10 and Delaware on Oct. 12. On Sunday, Oct. 12, the team will celebrate Senior Day and honor seniors Kate Murphy, Marissa Russo, Raychel Diver, Caroline O'Dee, Bethany Houpt and Kim Gardner.

HEAD COACH CHRIS NEAL: Chris Neal enters this weekend's matches with a career record of 100-60-25, which includes a 64-38-21 record at Elon.
