ELON, N.C. – For the second straight season, the Elon University women's tennis team earned an invitation to the ITA Division I Women's Kick-Off Weekend. The Phoenix earned a No. 4 seed in the Gainesville, Fla., region and will face the top-seeded Florida Gators in its first match. The tournament begins on January 23 at the Ring Tennis Complex and concludes two days later.

Also competing in the Gainesville region are second-seeded Georgia State and third-seeded Maryland. Elon is the lone Colonial Athletic Association team represented in the tournament.

The 2015 ITA Women's Kick-Off Weekend has 15 total sites featuring 60 teams.

Elon earned a No. 4 seed in this past season's ITA Kick-Off Weekend, falling to top overall seed Georgia in the first round. One day later, the Phoenix dropped a 4-3 heartbreaker to Kansas State.
