ELON, N.C. – The Elon women's soccer team gets set to host two Colonial Athletic Association matches this weekend at Rudd Field. On Friday, Sept. 25 the Phoenix host UNCW at 7 p.m., followed by College of Charleston for Senior Day on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 2 p.m.

Series HistoryElon and will face the Seahawks for the 11
th time in the series history on Saturday. UNCW has the upper hand in the all time series with a 10-0 advantage. They shut out the Phoenix 2-0 in at UNCW Soccer Stadium, despite outshooting the Seahawks 13-10 in the match.
Sunday will be the 16th all-time meeting between the Cougars and Phoenix. College of Charleston defeated Elon 3-1 in last season's CAA matchup on Oct. 3, 2014 in Charleston, S.C.

Elon opened CAA play with a 0-0 two-overtime draw against Northeastern on Friday, Sept. 25, but lost to Hofstra 2-0 on Sunday, Sept. 27, in the conference opening weekend at Rudd Field
The loss to the Pride on Sunday snapped Elon's eight-match unbeaten streak since Aug. 27. It was the first time the Phoenix lost since a 2-0 defeat at NC State. Elon trailed for the first time since they were down to the Wolfpack and it was only the third time the Phoenix have given up more than a goal in a game this season.
Elon had a great start to the season and the team's 7-1-1 mark heading into conference play was the program's best start to a season in the Division I era.
Samantha Burch has a team-high four goals this season. Four other players are right behind her with three goals apiece.
Sydney Schilling is the assists leader with three in her sophomore campaign.
The team has been solid defensively all season, as they have earned six shutouts so far this season.
Taylor Mohr has tallied four of the team's six shutouts this season. Offensively, the Phoenix has 17 goals this season that have been scored by nine different players on the roster.
William & Mary was scheduled to play Elon on Friday, Oct. 2, but the match was postponed due to the impending weather in the area.
Scouting UNCWUNCW (9-4-1, 2-1-1 CAA) split a pair of road contests last weekend to open the month of October. After edging Hofstra by a 2-1 margin in overtime on Friday night, the Seahawks saw an end to their nine-game unbeaten streak as Northeastern rallied to earn a 3-2 overtime victory at Parsons Field.
Senior forward Katrina Guillou brings a four-game point-scoring streak into this weekend's contests. The Seahawks' leading scorer with 17 points, she has scored four goals with two assists during the streak, including both goals at Northeastern on Sunday.
Scouting College of CharlestonThe Cougars (8-5, 2-2 CAA) experienced back-to-back losses for only the second time in 2015 after last weekend. Freshmen Laura Ortega scored her second goal of the season against Northeastern and sophomore forward Katie Grunder notched her first goal at CofC against Hofstra. Grunder transferred to The College from Auburn over the offseason.
A trio of freshmen has led most stat categories for the Cougars this season. Jessica Schifer and Raymara Barreto are tied with a team-leading five goals. All five of Schifer's goals this season has been game-winners, which ranks fourth in the country. Ortega leads CofC with four assists while also racking up two goals.
Up NextAfter the two home matches this weekend, the Phoenix will be on the road for four consecutive matches to continue conference play. First, Elon travels to Delaware for a 7 p.m. match on Friday, Oct. 16, followed by a trip to Drexel for a 12 p.m. noon kickoff on Sunday, Oct. 18.
