HILTON HEAD, S.C. – With second-round play suspended due to darkness on Monday, the Elon men's golf team ranked in a tie for eighth out of 19 teams after one round of the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate. The Phoenix shot a 302 (+14) over its first 18 holes of play.

The pair of Will DiIanni and Troy Beaver both notched a first-round 74 (+2). The duo is tied for 22nd out of 95 total players.

They are followed by Jake Leavitt who carded a 75 (+3) over his first 18 holes of the spring to stand in a tie for 29th.

After shooting rounds of 79 (+7), Charlie May and Jonathan DiIanni sit in a tie for 60th.

Five players shared the individual lead following the first round of play. All five players shot a three-under 69.

Wofford led all teams with a 290 (+2) after one round of play. Charleston Southern (291), Western Carolina (296), Radford (296) and Georgia Southern (296) round out the top five.

Round two will resume Tuesday morning and will be followed by the third and final round.
