HILTON HEAD, S.C. – After poor weather wiped out the third and final round of the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate, the Elon men's golf team claimed a ninth-place showing in its inaugural spring event. After the teams completed Monday's suspended second round, the Phoenix's score stood at 606 (302-304).

A trio of Elon golfers shared 22nd place in the field of 95 as Will DiIanni (74-77), Charlie May (79-72) and Troy Beaver (74-77) all carded a 151.

Two strokes back in a tie for 36th was Jake Leavitt who posted rounds of 75 and 78.

Finally, Jonathan DiIanni tied for 82nd with a mark of 162 (79-83).

Western Carolina's J.T. Poston took home medalist honors after firing a two-under 142 (69-73) over his two rounds.

The team title was snared by Wofford. The Terriers shot a 10-over 586 (290-296).

Elon will next be in action from March 9-10 at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate in Aiken, S.C.
