ELON, N.C. – Before hitting the road for the first time in over a month, the Elon University men's tennis team closes its homestand with a match against James Madison on March 21 at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center. First serve is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.

The match will be Elon's first-ever contest against James Madison as a Division I program.

LOOKING BACK: Elon fell to 5-9 on the season after a tight 4-3 loss to George Washington on March 15.

LOOKING AHEAD: The Phoenix will travel to face College of Charleston and USC-Upstate on March 24 and 25, respectively. It will mark Elon's first road match since Feb. 8 at Virginia Commonwealth.

LINDGREN HONORED: Junior
Robert Lindgren was named CAA Player of the Week on March 11. The Bastad, Sweden, native picked up singles victories against North Carolina Central's William East and Georgia Southern's Jose Landin on March 7 and has won three of his last four singles matches. Lindgren's singles honor was the first for an Elon player this season.

HOME COOKING: The Phoenix has enjoyed much success at home in recent years. The team is 12-2 at the JPTC over the past two seasons and is undefeated in conference play over the same period. Elon hasn't lost consecutive home matches since March of 2012, when the team lost to Texas-San Antonio and Appalachian State in back-to-back contests.

HEAD COACH MICHAEL LEONARD: Leonard is in his 11
th season as director of tennis and head men's tennis coach at Elon. He is a five-time recipient of the SoCon Coach of the Year award, having won the honor the last two seasons. Leonard guided the Phoenix to back-to-back SoCon titles in 2013 and 2014, as well as a second NCAA Tournament appearance in 2014.

ROAD TO WILLIAMSBURG: The Colonial Athletic Association men's tennis tournament will take place in Williamsburg, Va., April 16-19. This season is Elon's first in the CAA after 11 years in the Southern Conference. While in the SoCon, the Phoenix won regular season titles in 2006, 2007, 2011, 2013 and 2014, and captured the SoCon Tournament title in 2007 and 2014.
