ELON, N.C. – The Elon University men's tennis team was triumphant at every position in a 7-0 sweep against the James Madison Dukes on Saturday, March 21, at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.

Following three doubles wins that gave the maroon and gold an early 1-0 lead, the Phoenix won all six singles contests to complete the sweep against the Dukes.
Stefan Fortmann clinched the sweep at No. 1 singles, winning in three sets against JMU's Robert Stirling, 6-0, 5-7, 1-0 (10-5).

Chris Humphreys was the first Phoenix player to finish, as the sophomore won in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0, versus JMU's Stephen Goldman.

Jordan Kaufman extended Elon's lead to 3-0 at No. 2 singles, topping Sebastian Salinas, 6-4, 6-3, to set up
Brian Kowalski for the clinch at No. 4. Kowalski did not disappoint, winning 6-4, 6-2, against Brett Moorehead.

Rookie
Josh Luck extended Elon's lead to 5-0 at No. 5 singles, as the rookie claimed a 6-4, 6-1, win against Miljan Ruzic.

Robert Lindgren was impressive at No. 3 singles for the Phoenix, topping Maxi Branth, 7-6, 6-2.

Elon hits the road for its next three matches, beginning with a March 24 contest at College of Charleston.
