Final Round Results
 
SOUTHPORT, N.C. – The Elon University men's golf team earned its second top-5 finish of the season today, April 26, at the Colonial Athletic Association Championship at St. James Plantation. The Phoenix closed with a 294 to finish fifth out of nine teams.
 
Two Elon players collected top-15 individual finishes, as Jonathan DiIanni finished in a tie for ninth and Charlie May finished 12^th. DiIanni carded the lowest round of the tournament for a Phoenix with a three-under par round of 69 in the second round. The junior closed with a 76 to finish at 222 for the tournament.
 
May used four birdies to follow his second-round 72 with a final-round 73. His three-day total of 223 left him alone in 12^th.
 
Troy Beaver jumped seven spots into a tie for 20^th after posting the lowest round of the day for Elon, an even-par 72. The senior played an impressive back nine, sinking four birdies en route to a 32. Beaver shot an 82 in the first round and improved by nine and 10 shots, respectively, in his final two rounds.
 
Jake Leavitt improved six positions by shooting his best round of the week with a 73 in the final round. Leavitt also carded rounds of 79 and 81, giving him a three-day total of 233, good for a tie for 33^rd.
 
Also finishing in a tie for 33^rd was Will DiIanni, who closed with a 79.
 
Beaver led the team with five birdies in the final round.
 
College of Charleston took home team honors for the second straight season. The Cougars posted a 287 in the final round, giving them a three-day total of 873 that was 20 shots clear of second-place William & Mary and James Madison.
 
The top three finishers on the individual leaderboard were CofC players, as John Jonas won with a total of 215 and Zach Munroe and Josh Lorenzetti finished in a tie for second at 218.
