CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Elon women's soccer team wraps up the weekend with a match on Sunday, Aug. 30 against Chattanooga at 1 p.m. at Finley Stadium.

Series HistoryElon leads Chattanooga 7-4 all time and this will be the 12th meeting in the series history. This will be the first time the two teams have met since they were both in the Southern Conference in 2013. Elon defeated the Mocs 3-0 on Oct. 25, 2013.
About ElonThe Phoenix (1-1) fell to NC State 2-0 at Dail Soccer Stadium on Thursday evening. Elon had a good showing against the Wolfpack as they recorded more shots on frame, winning the battle with a 5-3 mark.

Entering his eighth season at the helm and second in the Colonial Athletic Association, head coach
Chris Neal and Elon returns 22 players and seven starters from a team that experienced their first season in the CAA last season. Neal also added 10 new freshmen to the fold in his 2015 recruiting class. The Phoenix finished 5-12 overall last season.
A total of 13 returning players have at least 10 games of action of CAA soccer from last season. 2014 CAA All-Freshman Team member, sophomore forward
Grace Bennett, returns after leading the team in scoring a year ago. Fellow sophomore and forward
Sydney Schilling will be back with Bennett as she finished second in goals last season.
The Phoenix will have strong leadership as they have seven seniors for the upcoming season. Senior defender
Mel Insley will look to lead the back line next season after starting 14 games last season.
Scouting ChattanoogaThe Mocs (0-2) have started the season with two narrow losses and are in search of their first goal of the 2015 campaign. On Friday, the Mocs suffered a 1-0 loss to Kennesaw State in Atlanta to fall to 0-2 on the year. Chattanooga fell to Austin Peay 1-0 on Sunday, Aug. 23 in its season and home opener. The Mocs finished the 2014 season 1-17-1.
Up NextNext weekend, The Phoenix will be back at Rudd Field for its home opener on Friday, Sept. 4, against North Florida at 7 p.m., followed by a trip to South Carolina State on Sunday, Sept. 6 at 2 p.m.
