RICHMOND, Va. – For the third time this season, sophomore Nick Ciolkowski of the Elon University men's cross country team was selected as the Colonial Athletic Association Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week as released by the league office on Tuesday morning, Oct. 18.
 
In his final race before the CAA Championships, Ciolkowski competed at the highly competitive NCAA Pre-Nationals meet in Terre Haute, Ind., last Saturday, Oct. 15. Racing against some of the most talented runners in the country, the Fairport, N.Y., native finished third overall in the men's 8K white race and clocked in a time of 24:48.1 – two seconds from a runner-up finish.
 
The Phoenix cross country programs will head to Newark, Del., for the 2016 CAA Cross Country Championships next Saturday, Oct. 29. Ciolkowski will look to defend his men's individual championship that he earned last season as a freshman.
