ELON, N.C. – The Elon University women's tennis team looks to secure its first home win of the season with three upcoming matches at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center. The Phoenix hosts UNCW on Thursday, March 3, at 2 p.m. and faces North Carolina A&T and North Carolina Central in a doubleheader on Saturday, March 5, beginning at 10 a.m.
LAST TIME OUTThe Phoenix (2-8) was in action against its sixth ranked opponent of the season Feb. 28.
Erica Braschi earned Elon's lone point in a 6-1 loss to No. 73 East Tennessee State.
Elon is 0-6 against ranked competition and 2-2 against unranked opponents in 2016.
BRASCHI ON A ROLLErica Braschi leads the team with six singles wins and takes a two-match winning streak into Thursday's match against UNCW. The sophomore has played primarily at No. 2 singles and has won two straight doubles matches alongside partner

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTSUNCW is 3-3 on the season. The Seahawks had won matches against Furman, East Carolina and Campbell before dropping a 4-1 decision to East Tennessee State Feb. 26.
North Carolina Central is winless this season, having lost each of its first five matches. The Eagles are scheduled host North Carolina A&T on Friday, March 4, prior to traveling to Elon.
SERIES HISTORYElon is 6-7 against fellow CAA member UNCW since joining Division I. The Phoenix defeated the Seahawks 6-1 in Wilmington last season.
The Phoenix is a combined 17-0 all-time against North Carolina Central and North Carolina A&T, including 16 sweeps. Elon beat the Eagles and the Aggies at home in 2015.

HEAD COACH ELIZABETH ANDERSONElizabeth Anderson is in her 12
th season as head coach of the Phoenix. Anderson has led Elon to four straight seasons of 15 or more wins and guided the program to its first NCAA Tournament in 2014.
2016 CAA TOURNAMENTElon was selected to host the 2016 Men's and Women's Tennis Championships, which will be held April 21-24 at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center and the Burlington Tennis Center. It will mark the first-ever CAA Tournament hosted by the Phoenix and first conference tournament hosted by the program since the 2013 SoCon Tournament.
