RICHMOND, Va. – Junior Elijah Agu of the Elon University men's soccer team was selected as the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday, Sept. 5.
 
Agu tallied seven points last weekend during the Elon/High Point Classic where the Phoenix captured the tournament title after going undefeated against St. Bonaventure and Detroit Mercy. Agu became the first Phoenix player to score a hat trick since 2005 in Elon's 6-0 win over St. Bonaventure. He also had an assist in that contest. At the conclusion of the tournament, Agu was named the tournament's MVP. This is the first career league weekly honor for the Cary, N.C., native.
 
Elon is back in action this weekend to begin CAA play as the Phoenix travels to College of Charleston on Saturday, Sept. 10. That match is scheduled for a kickoff of 7 p.m.
