ELON, N.C. – With a dominating performance Sunday afternoon, Feb. 19, at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center, Elon University men's tennis capped a four-match homestand with a 6-1 victory over Longwood to finish the swing with a 4-0 mark.
Â
"We had to make a few changes this weekend but I'm really proud of the way we overcame those changes to the lineup," said Elon head coach
Michael Leonard. "We didn't necessarily start the season the way we wanted to but to come home and win all four matches is big as we keep moving through February."
Â
The victory evens Elon's record at 5-5 this year after opening the season with a 1-5 record through six road matches. With the loss, Longwood drops its first match of the 2017 season and now stands at 3-1.
