ELON, N.C. – Elon University baseball has added a second home game against the University of Maryland, scheduled for a 4 p.m. start on Wednesday, March 20, at Latham Park.
 
"[Maryland head coach] Rob Vaughn and I agreed that if something were to open up, we would set aside this date for a second game," said head coach Mike Kennedy. "Unfortunately, we lost a three-game series late in the year that we just couldn't make up. We're excited to play such a quality opponent as Maryland a second time."
 
The Phoenix were already scheduled to host the Terrapins for a 4 p.m. contest on March 19. Maryland holds a 9-6 edge in an all-time series dating back to the 1998 season. The two ball clubs met at Elon on March 21 last season, an 11-3 decision that saw the visitors snap a six-game home winning streak for the maroon and gold.
 
Elon opens its season on Feb. 15-17 with a three-game home stand versus Lafayette.
