ELON, N.C. - Elon University senior defensive back
Greg Liggs, Jr., has been named an honorable mention Monday, Oct. 7, for STATS FCS' National Defensive Player of the Week honor.
Liggs had a career day at Wildcat Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 5, with three interceptions of New Hampshire quarterbacks to set the program's Division I record for most interceptions in a contest. The Greensboro, N.C., native previously had a career high of two interceptions, which came last season on Sept. 29, 2018, when Elon topped New Hampshire at Rhodes Stadium.
In all, Liggs finished with all three of Elon's forced turnovers while making four tackles on the day.
Liggs and the Phoenix will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 12, with a 2 p.m. game at home against the Delaware Blue Hens. The game, set to air on Elon Sports Vision, marks Elon's final game before its first open date on the schedule. Tickets to the game are available by visiting
