Maya Johnson were the three double-digit scorers for the Phoenix, combining for 37 points. Colón also recorded a career-high in steals (5) in addition tying her personal best in field goals (6).
-The CAA announced in its preseason poll that the Phoenix was picked eighth, earning 28 points. James Madison was named the favorite, totaling 81 points and nine first-place votes.
-Elon is led by ninth year head coach
Charlotte Smith, who led the Phoenix to two consecutive CAA Championship titles in 2017 and 2018.

LOOKING AHEAD TO 2019-20
-After this matchup, Elon's schedule sees the Phoenix heading to Furman on Monday, Dec. 30.
-Elon is in the midst of an eight-game road stretch that started with the pair of games at the UNLV Lady Rebel Round-Up on Nov. 30-Dec. 1. The next game at Schar Center will be on Friday, Jan. 10 when the Phoenix hosts the College of Charleston at 7 p.m.
-The Phoenix opens CAA play against Towson on Friday, Jan. 3.

SCOUTING COASTAL CAROLINA
-The Chants enter the game with an 8-1 record, ranking first in the Sun Belt Conference.
-In its last game, Coastal Carolina defeated Wesleyan 132-32. The 132 points and the 100-point margin of victory are both school records.
-Bailey Lewis and Alana Denson combined for 35 points to lead seven players in double figures.
-Coastal Carolina was predicted to finish in seventh in the Sun Belt preseason poll as voted upon by the league's 12 head coaches.
