Day 3

After a run in the morning around the city of London, the team took the tube over to White & Case LLP to listen to a presentation about Brexit. The Brexit expert at White & Case described main causes, effects and possible outcomes for the Brexit situation. One aspect of Brexit that makes it a difficult situation is the fact that a lot of the effects and the best way to deal with it is unknown. This is the first time a country is attempting to leave the European Union, so no one knows the full consequences, even on other nations such as the United States. However, the presentation was most helpful in explaining how Brexit came about.

Next on the schedule was a trip over to South Kensington, where the team had free time to walk around three different museums. The first, Victoria and Albert Museum displayed a number of sculptures and typical clothing or items used in various time periods, dating back hundreds of years. The National History Museum focused more on animals and had exhibits for dinosaurs, insects, mammals, fish, etc. Finally, the Science Museum included exhibits on space, but also on various machines and vehicles used across time periods. Although the smallest, the Science Museum had to be my favorite because of the fascinating technologies developed centuries before that I never knew existed.

To finish off the night, the team had an Italian-style dinner at Carluccios. I personally recommend the lasagna, but there were a ton of great dishes there. Overall an informative and exciting day!
