ELON, N.C. - Elon University football quarterback
Davis Cheek has been named a honorable mention for this week's CFPA FCS National Performer of the Week. Announced Monday, Sept. 16, the honor comes after Cheek was named to the CFPA FCS National Performer of the Year Watch List before the 2019 season.
Cheek earns the award after throwing for a career-high five touchdown passes in Elon's 42-20 road victory over Richmond. The junior completed 18-of-30 passes for 234 yards without turning the ball over, and all five of his touchdown passes went to different receivers. In addition to his five passing touchdowns, Cheek added 33 yards on the ground to set a new career mark. For his efforts, he was also named CAA Football Offensive Player of the Week.
Elon is back in action on Saturday, Sept. 21, at Wake Forest. Kickoff on RSN is set for 12 p.m.
