ELON, N.C. – Elon University women's tennis swept Saturday's double-header against Presbyterian and Mount Olive, 4-0 and 7-0 respectively.

With today's wins, the Phoenix moved to 3-1 in the all-time series against Presbyterian, and 2-0 in the all-time series against Mount Olive.

Sofia Edo, who combined withÂ
Victoria Saldh to earn a doubles win (6-0) over Mount Olive's Ece Yuksel and Arianna Orozco. In singles play, Edo defeated Mount Olive's Deike Schipper in straight sets (6-0, 6-0) to secure the victory. Against Presbyterian, Edo swept Shelly Ray (6-0, 6-0) to earn Elon a single point. The tandem of Saldh and Edo also picked up a 6-2 victory over Presbyterian's Zeba Jamal and Ella Rowley earlier in the day.
Olivia Archer put together a strong day for the Phoenix, winning both of her singles matches against Presbyterian's Beth Lacey (6-1, 6-2) and Mount Olive's Ece Yuksel (6-2, 6-1) in straight sets. Archer also combined with Kianna Rizzolo to earn two double victories on the day over Presbyterian's Ella Rowley and Mount Olive's Deike Schipper & Ingrid Montero respectively.

Also in singles, Uma Nayar picked up two wins on Saturday, defeating Presbyterian's Zeba Jamal (6-1, 6-2) and Mount Olive's Ingrid Montero (6-2, 6-3) for the Phoenix.
Alex Koniaev added two singles wins of her own, defeating Jessica Leeman of Presbyterian (6-2, 6-2) and Lina Romero of Mount Olive (6-1, 6-3) on the afternoon.

"I am extremely impressed by the teams grit and toughness today," Anderson said. "Our team is pretty banged up with injuries and sickness, and everyone did a tremendous job at persevering through the adversity and rising to the occasion. They will have a few days off and then look forward to getting back to work."

The Phoenix will have some time off before returning to action on Friday, Feb. 7, to take on Gardner-Webb at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center. That match is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.Â
