Men's Basketball Returns To Action Against Delaware This Weekend

ELON, N.C. – Elon University men's basketball travels to Newark, Del. to take on Delaware in the Phoenix's first contest since pausing basketball activities on Jan. 7.  Games will be held on both Saturday, Jan. 30 and Sunday, Jan. 31 with tipoff in both contests slated for 2 p.m.
 
COVERAGE

- Elon's game against Delaware will be streamed live on FloSports.

THE MATCHUP
- This marks the 15th time that Elon and Delaware will meet in program history, with Elon leading in the series 8-6.
- In their most recent meeting, Delaware defeated Elon, 81-75, on Feb. 13, 2020.

ABOUT ELON
- Elon is led by sophomore guard Hunter McIntosh, who leads the team in scoring (17.3 ppg) and assists (2.5 apg).
- Sophomore forward Hunter Woods leads the team in rebounding (6.5 rpg) and is third on the team in scoring (9.3 ppg).
- Guards Kris Wooten and Ikenna Ndugba are combining to average 14.7 ppg and 5.5 rpg through six games.
- Elon's contest against Delaware on Jan. 30 will be the first game for the Phoenix since it played Northeastern on Jan. 3.
- In its most recent outing, Elon fell to Northeastern, 66-58.
- Hunter McIntosh led the way for the Phoenix, posting 17 points, five rebounds and two assists.
- Hunter Woods nearly recorded a double-double, posting 10 points and nine rebounds in the loss.
- Ikenna Ndugba added 10 points and eight rebounds in his return to his hometown of Boston, Mass.
- Elon rounded out non-conference play with a 3-1 overall record.

SCOUTING DELAWARE
- Martin Ingelsby is in the midst of his fifth season at the helm of the Delaware program, compiling a 71-73 overall record during his tenure.
- Delaware is off to a 5-7 start to the season after falling to UNC Wilmington in its most recent outing.
- The Blue Hens are led by Ryan Allen, who is currently averages 15.3 ppg. Delaware has also gotten major contributions from Dylan Painter and Kevin Anderson who are combining to average 24.9 points and 15.8 rebounds this season.
 
UP NEXT
The Phoenix will be back in action on Wednesday, Feb. 3, against James Madison. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m. in Harrisonburg, Va.
