RICHMOND, Va. – Elon University men's golfer
Pedro Rabadan has been named the CAA's Men's Golfer of the Week, as announced by the league office on Wednesday, Oct. 13.
A sophomore from Madrid, Spain, Rabadan secured his first career tournament victory on Tuesday as he tied for first at Elon's Sixth Annual Phoenix Invitational, hosted by the maroon and gold at Alamance Country Club. After carding a career-low six-under par 65 in the opening round on Monday, he followed with a 66 in round two. Rabadan tied the program record for 36 holes vs. par and his 131 is also the lowest ever for 36 holes. In round three, he recorded a one-over 72 to finish 11 strokes under par with a 203 as he earned co-medalist honors with Appalachian State's Jake Land and North Carolina's Dougie Ergood.
The effort also helped the Phoenix capture the team title with a 31-under par 821. The win was his first career top-5 finish and was his lowest 54-hole total as a Phoenix.
Rabadan and Elon continue their fall season at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate, hosted by NC State on Oct. 16-17 at Lonnie Poole Golf Course.
