ELON, N.C.— Elon University women's soccer travels to William & Mary for a 7 p.m. match on Thursday, Oct. 21 prior to hosting #23/25 Hofstra in its final regular-season home game at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 24.

THE SERIES
-The Phoenix is 3-3-1 all time against the Tribe, including back-to-back wins in the 2019 and 2020 seasons.
-The Pride leads the overall series, 7-1-0. Elon earned is first win against Hofstra in program history last season in the 2020 Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Championship Semifinals when it delivered a 1-0 upset against the top-seeded Pride to advance the finals. The win marked the first time since the 2013 season that the Phoenix defeated a ranked opponent. Â
ABOUT ELON
-Elon ranks fourth in conference standings with a 7-5-1 (2-2-1 CAA) record.
-The Phoenix recorded its second-ever win at Northeastern on Oct. 17 in overtime, 2-1.

Carson Jones scored the first Elon goal, followed by her sister,
Kennedy Jones, with the golden goal in the 93
rd minute for her first collegiate goal.

Carson Jones' goal was the first goal given up by the Huskies in over 300 minutes. Northeastern posted shutouts against Towson, James Madison and Hofstra before facing the Phoenix.
-The victory was the Phoenix's first win at Northeastern in program history. The goals scored were also the first recorded by Elon when facing the Huskies in Boston.

-The Tribe comes into the match with a 3-7-2 (1-2-2 CAA) record on the season, tying for sixth in the CAA.
-William & Mary went 0-2-2 in its last four matches, including a scoreless draw against nationally-ranked Hofstra.
-For her performance against the Pride, goalkeeper Zoe Doughty was named to both the College Soccer News National Team and honorable mention list for Top Drawer Soccer's National Team of the Week.

-The Pride (12-2-1, 4-1-0 CAA) currently ranks second in the conference, 23
rd in RPI and 25
th in the latest United Soccer Coaches Poll.
-Hofstra went 0-1-1 last week, including an 0-1 upset against Northeastern for its first conference loss since the 2018 season.
-The Pride will travel to Philadelphia, Pa. to face Drexel on Oct. 21 prior to taking on the maroon and gold.
-Hofstra is led by Simon Riddiough.
