Charleston, S.C. – The College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) announced its 2021 midseason watch list for Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) and Elon quarterback Davis Cheek is one of 34 players on the list, as well as one of just four players from CAA Football.
 
Cheek is among the national leaders in most statistical categories including completions per game (No. 11), passing yards per game (No. 18), total offense (No. 19), completion percentage (No. 23), passing touchdowns (No. 26).
 
Cheek is 214-of-338 passing in nine starts this year and has thrown for 2,388 yards. He has 15 touchdown passes and just five interceptions on the season, leading CAA Football with 265.3 passing yards per game.
 
The 2021 CFPA FCS National Performer of the Year will be announced Jan. 12, 2022. All FCS players are eligible for the award and the trophy is a 22-inch K-9 optic crystal tower with an eight-inch crystal football on top.
