ELON, N.C. – The Elon University men's soccer team takes a step out of Colonial Athletic Association play to host Campbell on Wednesday night, Sept. 29, at Rudd Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

The Matchup
• The series between the Phoenix and the Camels are deadlocked at 10-10-1 going back to 1978.
• Campbell took the win in the last matchup between the two teams this spring, 3-2.
• Elon's last victory over the Camels came in 2015 with a 2-0 win over Campbell at the Hilton Garden Inn Classic in Wilmington, N.C.
Last Time Out
• Elon hosted three-time defending CAA champion James Madison on its home field last Saturday, Sept. 25.
• Despite winning the overall shot battle, 17-16, the Dukes took the victory over the Phoenix, 2-0 for its second straight win in the series.

Peter Wentzel made a career-high seven saves in the game while making his sixth start of the season in goal.
Elon Earns Team Academic Award
• The Phoenix earned a Team Academic Award from the United Soccer Coaches Association as announced on Monday, Sept. 27.
• Elon had a team composite grade-point-average of 3.50 and was one of four men's teams in the Colonial Athletic Association that were recognized.
About Elon
• Through its eight games, Elon (4-4, 2-1 CAA) has scored eight goals on the season. The Phoenix has also outshot opponents 102-86 and is tied with opponents in shots on goal at 39.

Jack Edwards leads the Phoenix with his three goals and six total points. Each of his goals this season have been game winners with Edwards being tied for third in the country in that category.
• Statistically, Elon is one of the top defensive teams in the CAA, allowing only 1.10 goals per game, which is second in the league.
Scouting Campbell
• The Camels are 6-2-1 on the season after coming off a 3-1 over Radford this past Saturday in its Big South opener. It was the third straight win for Campbell and the fourth out of its past five games.
• Campbell ranks fourth in the country in total goals (24), assists (24) and points (72), while standing seventh in goals per game (2.67) and 16th in goal differential (+11).
• Redshirt sophomore Tyler Young leads the Camels and the Big South in points with his six goals and five assists. Daniel Hernandez is second on the squad with five goals while Jalen James has scored four goals.
• Campbell head coach Dustin Fonder is in his seventh season at the helm of the Camels program. Fonder served as an assistant coach at Elon from 2003-2006.
