ELON N.C.– Elon University men's basketball fell to Drexel, 77-49, on Thursday, Jan. 20, at the Daskalakis Athletic Center in Philadelphia, Pa.

THE RUNDOWN
- The Phoenix opened the scoring with a jumper from
Michael Graham. Moments later, a
Hunter McIntosh three gave Elon a 5-3 lead. After two quick scores from Drexel put them on top 7-5,
Darius Burford beat the shot-clock buzzer with his mid-range pull up to tie the game. The conference foes remained deadlocked at the first media timeout, 7-7.
- Elon came out of the timeout strong with a three pointer by
Hunter Woods, followed by a McIntosh jumper to give Elon a 12-9 lead with 14:23 remaining in the first half. From there, Drexel recaptured the lead on the power of an 8-0 run. With the Phoenix trailing 17-12, Graham took over, scoring six straight points including a two-handed throwdown that brought Elon back within one.
- The Dragons took a late 37-22 first-half lead after going on a 13-2 run that lasted just over six minutes of game time. Despite the Drexel spurt, the maroon and gold closed out the half on a 5-0 run to fight back within 10 heading into halftime.

Hunter Woods led the charge for the Phoenix out of the break, scoring Elon's first seven points to open the half to keep the score within 47-34. From there, another 10-0 run by the Dragons widened their lead to 23 with 10:43 remaining in the game.
- Elon managed a six-point run down the stretch capped by an and-one three pointer by Woods. The spurt brought the score to 68-47 with just under four minutes remaining.
- A late burst by Drexel helped them secure the win.

Michael Graham led the charge for Elon, finishing with 14 points and a career-high 17 rebounds. His 17 boards also set a new Division I program record for the Phoenix. Graham has now scored in double-figures in seven straight games and has recorded three double-doubles this season.

Hunter Woods chipped in 16 points on 4-of-6 shooting from the field, 3-of-3 shooting from beyond the arc and 5-of-5 from the free throw line. The performance marked a new season-high in scoring for Woods and gave him his eighth 10+ point game this season and the 30
th of his career.

Hunter McIntosh and
Darius Burford combined for 12 points and five rebounds on the night. Â
-Â Elon held a 14-5 advantage in second chance points and a 37-27 advantage on the glass. Â
